Flat Frog Films is a creative video production company with over 20 years’ experience producing cinematic content for brands, broadcasters and online platforms. We began as a video production agency creating award-winning documentaries and broadcast content, long before online video became essential to modern marketing. When YouTube was still emerging, we were already producing high-quality video content for forward-thinking brands who understood the power of storytelling.
That documentary heritage underpins all of our work today. Whether we’re producing commercial video, branded content or cinematic brand films, our focus is always on strong narrative, beautiful visuals and meaningful impact — regardless of budget.

Filmmaking Led by Story and Curiosity
Flat Frog Films is led by James Russell, a self-taught filmmaker with a lifelong passion for storytelling. Rather than learning in a classroom, James learned by doing — buying a camera and spending two years travelling the country making his first documentary and refining his craft in the real world.
That debut film went on to be translated into seven languages, win international awards, and help influence changes in law in two countries — a defining moment that shaped his belief in the power of film to inform, connect and inspire.
Since then, James has produced content for broadcasters including the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, and directed films for global brands such as FIFA, McLaren, Epson, Tesco and Costa Coffee.
Whatever the brief, filmmaking remains a genuine pleasure — bringing a client’s vision to life and sharing that moment when their story finally appears on screen.
