About Flat Frog Films

Flat Frog Films began with a simple belief: the best way to learn is by doing.

Our founder and director, James Russell, is a self-taught filmmaker who learned his craft the hard way — by picking up a camera and making a documentary from scratch. That first project took over two years to complete, went on to be translated into seven different languages, won multiple awards, and even helped influence change beyond the screen. More importantly, it cemented a lifelong love of film, photography and storytelling.

That same passion runs through everything we do at Flat Frog Films today.
