About James Russell and Flat Frog Films

Flat Frog Films was built on a simple belief: great content starts with understanding — not just of cameras and lighting, but of people, brands, and the stories they want to tell.

Our founder and director, James Russell, came into the industry through a hands-on route, learning his craft by creating a documentary entirely from scratch. That early experience shaped the way we work today — with patience, curiosity, and a strong focus on listening before creating.

That mindset now runs through everything we do. Whether we’re producing cinematic video, jewellery photography, fashion imagery, or social media content, our approach is always the same: to understand what matters most to our clients and translate that into visuals that feel authentic, polished, and purposeful.
